Part 1- power point presentation 9-12 slides 1 – identify the policy- Gun violence. 2- what social problem was it introduced to address 3- what are the key goal of the legislation/policy? what will it do? 4-who are the key actors/stakeholders who support the legislation? who are the key actors/stakeholders who oppose it? what is the debate? 5-what are the politics? (which party supports it and why?) 6- How has the policy responded or been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic? 7-If the legislation has not been enacted- where is the policy at in the legislative process? what chances does it have of passing? 8- If legislation has been enacted- how effective has the policy been in addressing the social problem? Part 2- A 2-4 page write up of the presentation with references. Part 3- An advacy letteocr based on the project addressed to a relevant policy-maker in local, state, federal government or to another or to another policy-making actor(such as media, or the head of an agency). In the letter, discuss why you are writing it. Use information based off the policy presentation to advocate or recommend a particular policy, policy change, or additional action. Make a few points that are based on what was learned in the research. It does not need to be long.
