Readings: Cullen, F., Agnew, R., & Wilcox, P. (2018). Criminological Theory, 6th Edition. Pgs. 564-606. Plus 3 Books/Journals of your choosing. Critique Assignment: Race & Crime Theories. Critique Assignment is designed to identify and assess an issue or problem that is relevant to the course topic. For the purposes of this assignment, you are to select 3 other readings; references of your choosing. The selected text should cover the above topic/theory (Race & Crime). The selected books/journals should be no more than 10 years-old. For this assignment, students will critically analyze the authors viewpoint to include a succinct critique of the problem or issue described in the book. The student must support the critique with relevant academic articles. This is not a reflective or opinion piece but based on the literature. The Book Critique Assignment will consist of at least 1,500 words (excluding title page, references, figures, illustrations, or other extraneous elements outside the main body of the paper). Students will format their paper using 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and double spacing. Students will use at least 4 references (Wikipedia or blogs CANNOT be used as a reference).
